According to the buzz and the fuss, the impatient waiting and the oooh-s and aaah-s, the squealing and the swooning, I would say these are the 2011 Top 5 greatest hits in the scrapbooking world!
SMASH books and accessoirs
Any time the SMASH books and accessoirs are hitting the store shelves they are selling out fast. This has been THE big craze of the year. I'd venture to guess that K & Company will continue to release new books and pretty add-on items within this product line. And can I have a Christmas wish for next year? How about a Holiday SMASH book?! I would love one of those!

October Afternoon's Holiday Style

Finally! A new holiday collection from October Afternoon! AND it actually shipped before Christmas! Who would have guessed? All of us October Afternoon fans (and we are numerous and loud, heeheeh) rushed to the scrapbooking stores to quickly grab all those pretties off the shelves. I just hope OA printed enough of paper pads and miscellany to go around. Other OA lines this year, such as Rocket Age and Sidewalks, were also great successes but I don't think any of them was as eagerly anticipated as Holiday Style. You can buy Holiday Style and other OA collections at TwoPeasInABucket.com
, and Blue Moon Scrapbooking may also have some of it.
Seasonal Distress Inks
I'd say that the Distress Stains from Tim Holtz and Ranger are strong runners up this year but all the big buzz has been about the two limited editions of the Fall and Holiday Seasonal Distress ink pad sets. The first batch of Fall colors sold out in a couple of days! Ranger had to quickly make another batch to soothe upset Distress Ink die-hards and disgruntled LSS all over the globe that didn't get any sets at all the first time around. Scrapbook.com and Simon Says Stamp still have the Winter pads, but the Fall pads seem to be sold out at most places. Again. And this time they're not coming back.

Copics
If you've missed the Copic craze this year, you must have been living under a rock! LOL! I have to admit that I am hooked big time! I already got more than 70 markers and I'm about to place another big order for even more of them. Copic markers are refillable and the tips are replacable. You can use the original markers and the Sketch markers for airbrushing. The quality is great and the results are fantastic when you get the hang of how to color with them. Right now, TwoPeasInABucket.com
have a special offer on Copics (and 20 % off during Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend!), Blue Moon Scrapbooking only sell some of the sets but they're on sale right now. You can also buy your Copic markers at Scrapbook.com and at Simon Says Stamp.

6x6 Paper Pads
Another new craze is the 6x6 paper. Most often sold in paper pads, the new brand Authentique have even tried to sell those 6x6 paper in singles (the collection is called Free Bird), and My Mind's Eye released a whole collection of 6x6 paper pads! The format is perfect for cardmaking and mini albums! How many 6x6 paper pads did you get this year? I'll bet that you bought more of them in 2011 than in last year? :)
