My Country House Morning page was featured on Two Pea's blog last week, as an example of the metallic trend. Which goes to show that you can use your stash and still get that current and trendy look. It doesn't all have to be made from the latest collection and products. And that is the whole idea of Scrap Stash Kit Club. :)
It is so much fun when you pull those older supplies from your stash and use them in a fresh way.
The golden specialty paper behind the title is actually the back side of a golden Hambly paper with a bright pink printed pattern on it. I didn't quite know what to do with the pink pattern, but by flipping it and only use the monochrome back side, it became perfect for this page!
The golden leaf is from a Webster's Pages set of leaves and brightly colored flowers for their Christmas collection two years ago. I pulled the one leaf and added it to a Princess Petal flower, also from Webster's Pages.
By adding trendy details like a few wood veneer pieces and vellum (I have both old and new vellum sheets in my stash), some stitching and sequins, this page suddenly got a very current look, just by some small and inexpensive means.
Gorgeous page!
