A Little Bit About Me
My name is Margareta. I'm cohabiting with my DH plus two cats, one black and one tabby (we adopted two cat sisters from a local cat shelter), in the beutiful town of Stockholm, Sweden. As all cats do, these love paper! If there is a pile of paper, the cats will sit on it! Hence the name of this web site. In this way, you could say that we share the love for scrapbooking (although I don't usually SIT on the papers but rather try to yank them out from under the cats).
Memory keeping has always been of huge importance to me, but it was only recently that I found a structured method for it: scrapbooking. I'm a Ph.D. Student, writing my thesis on Old Norse Literature. I read and write all day long, so in my spare time I really need to rest my eyes on something pretty and non-textual. I adore pretty things and bright colors. This makes scrapbooking perfect for me.
Thank you so much for visiting! I can't wait to make new great scrapbooking friends!
Welcome to Paper Pile Kitten's Blog!
You'll find loads of reviews, news and inspiration on scrapbooking. It's kind of like a bookmark folder but with gorgeous pics, interesting video clips and articles. This is a rather long post, so just browse the headlines and read what you're interested to know about this blog.
Good Places To Start
The postings are published in chronological order so to make it easier for you to find your way around, here's a couple of pages that I think will interest you.
In the menu to the left, you'll find all the posts sorted into different categories but still in chronological order. The link that says Resources is for tutorials and hands on scrapbooking advice. Projects are layouts and projects for inspiration.
If you're looking for something specific, there's a search box to use. It's in the margin.
Subscribe
Be sure not to miss any news. I'm very fast to report breaking news, making this a one-stop place if you want to keep yourself updated. Sometimes I also blog about great deals at the big scrapbooking stores, events, etc.
If you enter your e-mail address in the form to the right and press Subscribe, you'll get a newsletter every day with the latest posts on the blog.
If you're using a RSS reader, like Google Reader, My Yahoo, Newsgator or some other news reader service, you could also subscribe by clicking Subscribe in the top menu and then just click on the icon for the service you're using on the Subscription page.
Guest Bloggers Are Welcome!
If you have a great project you'd like to show, a product review or an article you'd like to share with other scrappers, feel free to contact me. I don't guarantee that you'll be published but if it's a good and well written blog post that is relevant to the subject, there's a good chance. And if you have any other ideas on how we could work together, feel free to drop me a line.
Affiliate Links
I have some affiliate links on the blog. Mostly for Two Peas in a Bucket and Amazon.com because those are the places where I buy my own supplies and I can promise you that the customer service is excellent. The affiliate links are also helping me to display the hottest news on the market in a really nice way so that you blog readers can get a good overview of some of the wonderful goodies on the shelves right now.
I get a small commission every time someone who's clicked on a link place an order within 24 hours to 30 days after the click, depending on the deal with the store. It does not cost you anything to click such a link and you'll pay the same amount for your purchase as if you didn't clicked on any link. But if you like what you read here, I hope you don't mind helping me keep this blog and keep writing.
Objectivity
Paper Pile Kitten's blog is working pretty much like any newspaper or magazine or news website. I never get payed to write about any products or manufacturers, although I'd be happy to receive review copies.
I only write about the things that I love. If a product does not appeal to me at all, I won't write about it. I am convinced that there are plenty of people out there who totally adores the products I don't care for, so I'd rather not blog about those things than write something negative. We all have different taste and that's one of the greatest thing of being human.
